Small wine - very large
2008 Trebbiano d'Abruzzo DOC
Fattoria Bruno Nicodemi, Abruzzo
Grape: Trebbiano
The central Italian region of Abruzzo is somewhat in the shadow of the famous Tuscany, but Elena Nicodemi, the equally charming and talented winemaker proves that this is unjustified.
Elena is committed to the organic cultivation of wine. Her Trebbiano is clear and very harmonious. A wine that tastes better with every sip.
Slim, subtle apple flavour, very digestible, with fresh acidity.

Three glasses for the steadfast
2007 "Le Vaglie", Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi DOC
Santa Barbara Winery, brands
Grape: Verdicchio
Stefano Antonucci has not without reason chosen St. Barbara to be the patron saint of his vineyard. Because this reflects the steadfastness of his growths. He has persistently cultivated the indigenous variety Verdicchio. This grape is one of the few unquestionably great Italian white wines.
In the Gambero Rosso´s "Vini d´Italia" this wine has been awarded the coveted "three glasses" once before!
Powerful, with ripe fruit and delicate almond notes, a fine classic white wine from central Italy.

Burgundy in South Tyrol
2006 Löwengang Chardonnay
Alto Adige DOC, Alois Lageder
Grape: Chardonnay
Without question he is a South Tyrolean instance. Alois Lageder, who has run the winery since 1974 in the fourth generation – is a man of vision.
The work begins in the vineyard, where he puts a high priority to natural farming methods and it continues in the cellar where the wines are treated as gently as possible, "to maintain the quality the grapes gained during their growth in the vineyard." The Chardonnay Löwengang is a top wine of the estate with classic status. It represents the perfect symbiosis of elegance and richness in taste. It is like the great white Burgundies, aged in barriques and refined.

Love for the Teroldego
2007 Foradori - Teroldego Rotaliano DOC
Trento, Elisabetta Foradori
Grape: Teroldego
Elegant and juicy, intense berry fruit.
A great wine from an ancient and little-known grape variety. Winemaker Elisabetta Foradori knows what she wants: she is devoted to the indigenous red wine grape Teroldego, that she helped gain international recognition. Her most important wine is a Teroldego simply called "Foradori", which is dense, spicy and primarily fruity with an elegance that grew while it matured in used barriques.

The best of Piedmont
2007 Nebbiolo d'Alba DOC
Valmaggiore di Vezza d'Alba
Bruno Giacosa, Piedmont
Grape: Nebbiolo
Piedmont, in the North-West of Italy "located at the foot of the Alps" , is one of the major growing regions of Italy. In Piedmont, there are a lot of very good wine growers. But one dominates all others by his most incredible continuity: Bruno Giacosa from Nieve. Giacosa describes his "philosophy" as "extremely simple": Respect for tradition while working in the vineyard and in the cellar. The "Winery of the Year 2010" in the Gambero Rosso - congratulations!
His Nebbiolo d'Alba shows the class of this gifted winemaker. So fine, so fragrant and flowery a Nebbiolo can be! Despite the incredible elegance of the wine it has a lot of power and shows up as "a little Barolo".

Campione del Chianti
Rancia 2004 - Chianti Classico DOCG Riserva
Tuscany, Fattoria di Felsina
Grape: Sangiovese
At the southernmost edge of the Chianti Classico region lies the Fattoria Felsina of Giuseppe Mazzocolin who has turned the vineyard into a model enterprise. His Chianti Riserva from the vineyard Rancia is rightly regarded as one of the great wines of Italy. Produced since 1983, this varietal, vital as well as elegant Sangiovese wine expresses the terroir impressively.
The Fattoria Felsina was awarded the "Winery of the Year 2009" by the Gambero Rosso.
Intense, beautiful ruby red colour. Spicy bouquet with floral notes and fruity notes of wild berries. On the palate spicy, with young, persistent and soft tannins, fiery and well structured.

Delicious treats from the South
2006 "Vereto" Salice Salentino Rosso DOC
Azienda Agricola Vallone
Grape: Negroamaro/Malvasia Nera
The sisters Vallone run this winery with sovereignty and vision. They will be supported in future by the oenologist Graciana Gracini, a student of the legendary Giacomo Tachis, the "inventor" of the Tignanello.
The Salice is actually the classic red wine of the region, juicy and full-bodied in youth, but quite capable of maturing.
The term Negroamaro (black bitter) already shows that it is a powerful wine. Its bitterness was tempered by an extended barrel aging, the delicate oxidative touch is quite typical for this classic wine from Puglia.

O sole mio ...!
2007 Moscato di Noto DOC
Planeta
The siblings Alessio, Francesca and Santi Planeta have led their winery with the
support of the Piedmontese oenologist Carlo Corino within a few years time into the top class
of Italian wine producers. The wine loving family saved the Moscato di Noto from oblivion. This reductively vinificated Moscato has developed an overwhelming aromatic intensity and can be counted to the great Italian dessert wines of Italy. It conjures up the sun into your glass and a smile to your face. A worthy conclusion to a wonderful evening in the NOI QUATTRO!
Prepared from the "Muscat des Petit Grains", the noble relative of the "Muscat de Alexandrie". Ripe fruit flavours, honey-like sweetness, but also a pleasant acidity make this wine a fascinating culinary experience.

Champagne Legras & Haas
Sometimes it must be champagne! For the special, festive moments champagne is a must in the NOI QUATTRO, too.
Legras & Haas is a family run business with the best vineyards on the Côte de Blancs. The Brut Millésimé is selected from the best grapes of at least a good year and comes from 100% Grand Cru wineries.
By the way: Champagne as an aperitif is classical. Champagne to a menu? This can be so wonderful!

Two meters Saar Riesling
2008 Saar Riesling
Quality wine
Weingut van Volxem, Saar
Roman Niewodniczanski is two meters in size and cannot be overlooked. This is also true for his wines. Since 1999 he is working on his vision of a Riesling. Rich, harmonious, dry wines with mineral elegance are the goal. This mission in mind Niewodniczanski spares neither trouble nor expense. His Saar Riesling is characterized by slated soil and derives from vineyards with vines older than 30 years.

No black thoughts: Drink Black Print!
2007 Black Print
Quality wine, dry
Weingut Markus Schneider, Ellerstadt
Grapes: St. Laurent, Merlot, Cabernet, Syrah
Mark Schneider, the shooting star of German wine makers, remains unperturbed in going his own way.
Wine lovers are licking their fingers especially after the colourful, dense fruity red wines. He masters the art of cuvée exquisitely.
The name "Black Print" clearly focuses on a black-coloured, powerful red wine with elegance that rolles pithily over your tongue.
